Investigation report: April 2019 striking of a shore crane by a container vessel at the Fraser Surrey Docks, British Columbia

Richmond, British Columbia, 1 June 2020 — Today, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) released its investigation report (M19P0078) into the 5 April 2019 striking of a shore crane by the container vessel Oakland Express at the Fraser Surrey Docks, British Columbia.

The TSB conducted a limited-scope, fact-gathering investigation into this occurrence to advance transportation safety through greater awareness of potential safety issues.
